This handsome coin boasts an antique bronze finish and nearly all letter/number stamping is still sharp and in tact. What sets this coin apart from the others is its' minting error. This 1945 P Jefferson War Nickel has a large die crack that begins on the rim, just under the letter'E' in UNITED and moves upward breaking through the rim and onto the surface of the coin, just under the letter'T'. The crack continues upward going through the lower portion of the'I', continuing upwards and through the mid point of the letter'N'. The crack continues upward breaking diagonally through the'U', finally coming to an end at the top of the Monticello Building's base.
